Tennis Anyone?

Oops. It's been a while, hasn't it? What's new in Aunt Melissa's Kitchen?

Well, not much, I tell ya'.

I'm still (thankfully) doing a little contract work and keeping very busy (love those paychecks), should be looking for a new full-time job with benefits (I look, but I don't see anything).

But what are we doing for fun these days? Playing tennis.

I bought my condo 9 years ago. My husband and I married 8 years ago. Since that time, I've periodically said, "hey, we should play tennis". To which he would reply "Don't have a racket, besides, you wouldn't enjoy playing with me, I'm pretty good..." (ahem..well.. He is pretty good!)

Ohwellanyway, Labor Day weekend, just for fun we went to Target and bought a couple of new inexpensive rackets and guess what? We are loving this tennis time! What a great way to take out the frustrations of a day (anyone out there ever worked for a start-up with no systems and any given day you find yourself being either a systems analyst, procurement specialist, contracts manager or administrative assistant and that's just in the first 2 hours?).
Have any of you relied on a cell phone as a business phone that gets zero, zip, nada reception while you are sitting at your desk (I laugh at Verizon commercials).... But I LOVE the people I work with, and think the project is great, just challenging, sometimes very challenging.

Tennis is GREAT! We're both loving it. I'm making it a point to come home before dark and slamming a few tennis balls around the court for an hour before coming inside for dinner. It even helps with the family dynamics, too! =)

Okay, I don't have any photos, and no I haven't lost an ounce and again, we're not great, but husband has a wicked top-spin. I have a decent forehand and a much improving backhand and I just feel better all day long... it's as if my metabolism is revving up and I feel the fire burning again. (nope, no weight loss). Doesn't matter, it's fun and good for the heart and mind.

Wish me luck next week. We will be moving into a real office. Pray everything goes well.
